Suppose that one day Daddy-God brought up the creation issue with Jesus, and it went something like this:
“I’ve been intervening in humanity from above since creation. It isn’t working. I have talked through the prophets and teachers and priests till I’m blue in the face. It’s time to do something different. It’s time to intervene from among them, within them. For one thing, since they’re working out of a fallen nature, they aren’t very well equipped to hear me, and for another, they don’t listen well. And without a physical form I’m just too big and too vague for them.
So, Jesus, it’s your turn. They are so lost to the spiritual, so confined to the physical. You go and become one of them, so you can show and teach them in a way they can relate to. Once your physical work is done there then we will give them the ability to be spiritual beings. I will finally be a God they can see and a voice they can hear. I will be able to work one-on-one directly among them. We will become physical in a physical world. Are you ready to see our creation from the inside? The sun from below? Are you ready to join creation as the Creator within the created?”
The result of this conversation was that Jesus came, in human form, joyfully dancing across the earth tangibly as he physically loved on his creation, culminating with the final act of love as he paid the price to redeem us.
Now Jesus is saying to you:
“Hey. I’m Jesus, and I’ve come to change your world. I’ve come to bring light and joy into a dark and tired place. Look at what your life can be! Look at the adventure and destiny you can have with me. Look at how your life can become a supernatural dance of joy and fulfillment by walking with me. Hey, come on, let’s go. The world is waiting out there for us, to come leaping over the mountains and skipping over the hills to the lost and dying, the lonely and tired, the bored and existing. Together we can change the world!
But first, look into my eyes and see my love for you. Look in my soul and see my longing for you. Look in my Spirit and see your Bridegroom Lover, waiting for you. First, before we go running together, stop and look at me. Really look at me. Look inside me and see my heart for you. Drop your ideas and notions of what I want and don’t want, what I’m ready to judge you for or discipline you for, and just listen to my heart. I’m in love with you. You are my beloved, my spouse, the lover of my soul. Come away with me, into my inner chambers, into my place of rest, into my private courts and rooms, and let’s get to know each other. Drop your masks, your fears, your layers of protective clothing, and show me the real you. I promise to treat you tenderly, not to wound you or expose you to others who would tear you down. You can trust me. I promise not to rush you, but I’m anxious for us to get to know each other. I can’t wait to walk as one heart, one soul, and one Spirit. So I will encourage you, tease you, woo you, and do anything I can think of to entice you further along with me. Let’s go, I’ve waited a long time for this. So, do you know what’s it’s like to be in love with the God of the Universe? Have you any idea of the places I want to take you and the things I want to show you? Just wait until you hear…”
